Happy New Year 2025!

As we embark on this new year, I’m excited to share my personal journey with you, in the hope that it can offer some inspiration and make a positive impact.

For years, I lived in financial chaos. Money came in and out, and I wondering where it all went. It felt like walking blindfolded through my financial life, completely in the dark. Planning for the future? Forget about it. A down payment on a house or a much-needed vacation seemed like fantasy.

It wasn’t even about being rich, it was just about knowing. Knowing where my money was going and having some control over my financial future. This constant anxiety about money was a terrible feeling. I knew I should be budgeting, but the whole concept felt overwhelming and complicated. I’d try for a week or two, jotting down expenses on scraps of paper, but it never stuck.

Then, something shifted. Maybe it was turning a certain age or finally getting fed up with the stress, but I realized this couldn’t go on. I needed to take control.

Five years ago, I made a commitment, I would record every single transaction. No matter how small, from my morning coffee to the everything, it all went down.

At first, it was awkward, and I’ll admit, I wasn’t perfect. I’d forget to write something down or lose the scrap of paper I was using. But I stayed consistent. The biggest problem was figuring out how to actually use this information. Just having a list of transactions didn’t really tell me anything.

So, I moved to spreadsheets, but even then, it was tough to create something that made sense. I wanted to see where my money was going, not just have a bunch of numbers staring back at me. I must have gone through a dozen different versions, tweaking things, trying to find a solution that worked. It had to be easy to use and give me meaningful insights, like charts and summaries that actually helped me make decisions.

Fast forward to now, It’s been five years since I started this journey, and it’s been a game-changer. I can tell you exactly where my money comes from and where it goes. I’ve been able to track and maintain a budget that actually works for me. And the best part? That feeling of constant financial anxiety is pretty much gone. I can actually save for things I want and plan for my future with confidence. It even got me to six figure portfolio. Knowing my financial standing has given me clarity and control, something I never thought I’d have.

It took a lot of trial and error, a lot of late nights wrestling with spreadsheets, to get to this point. But through all that, I perfected my personal finance template. It’s simple, intuitive, and gives you a clear picture of your finances. No more guessing where your money went or struggling to plan for the future.

I’d love to share this template with you. It’s been a game-changer for me, and I truly hope it can be for you too. You can find it here
